Premier Arsenal Transfer News: Alexis Sanchez to Bayern Munich deal is OFF – Karl-Heinz Rummenigge

At least that’s the verdict of the Bundesliga giants’ chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge amid speculation linking the 28-year-old with a move to Germany.

Sanchez is now in the final 12 months of his Arsenal contract and he has not made it clear whether he plans to stay at the Emirates beyond the summer.

Bayern, Chelsea, Manchester City and Juventus have all been credited with interest in securing the former Barcelona ace’s services ahead of next season.

And each of those clubs could offer Sanchez the Champions League football he craves - although he’s admitted this weekend that his future is not in his hands.

“I do not know what he said, we are no longer involved”

Sanchez said: "The truth is that the decision doesn’t depend on me.

"I have made my decision, but now we wait for a response from Arsenal. It depends on them, I have to wait to know what they want."

However, Rummenigge has revealed Sanchez will not be swapping north London for Bavaria with Bayern dropping out of the race to sign him up.

He said: "I do not know what he said, we are no longer involved."

Rummenigge revealed the decision to end Bayern’s interest in Sanchez came after a conversation with Carlo Ancelotti.

He continued: "We've agreed with the coach that there will be no more additions in attack. That makes no sense."
